My Thoughts on Feminism

Feminism.

Lately, this seems to be quite a touchy subject. From what I’ve observed, Western society is divided at least in three basic groups on this matter: pro-feminism, anti-feminism, and I-don’t-really-care-about-feminism. Of course, it gets more complicated than that. There are so many different interpretations of what feminist theory is in the first place.

In general, feminism strives for gender equality in every sphere and institution of our social world, from domestic to public, from private to government, and so on. Finally.

Well, I finally started this wretched blog. Took me long enough.

So, hello anyone who was bored enough to read this first post.

First of all I’d like to provide a popular definition of a word used rather often on the internet, usually in unpleasant situations. According to Google, ‘noob’ is “a person, who is inexperienced in a particular sphere or activity […]”

That is me. I’m a noob. Not only at blogging, but also at what I will use this blog for, which is writing stories.

I want to use this blog to start an anthropology inspired fantasy story, that I hope one day I will be able to compile into a book, once I am competent enough to do it.

Why, would you ask?

I love anthropology (which I am currently studying as an undergraduate) and I love fantasy. I want to combine both to present a world that might be at first glance so different from ours, but that becomes so familiar with its cultural and social problems, so similar to our own. All from a perspective of a little girl thinking a bit differently than people around her and craving for an adventure.

I hope to make it fun for all people, young-and-innocent, not-so-young-anymore, midlife-crisis-people, grumpy-and-happy-old-people and so on.

We will see how it goes. Either up towards the sky or down the drain to the sewers.
